ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — People are beginning to gather in near First Street and Central Avenue for a protest.
A local chapter of the Black Lives Matter group has invited people to march. Many offices and businesses in that area decided to close early.
UNM graduate student Nikki Archuleta, who organized the event, said her group is communicating a non-violent message and the protest is aimed at police conduct and white supremacy in America.
The route that protesters plan to take has not been made public.
